[February 27, 2025] My good friend, Eddie Gilliam, sent me a note yesterday to tell me about Warren Police Department Officer Bryce Moon. On a recent Saturday, he could have gone home after a long day. But he saw something. His act of kindness should now be legendary.
He saw a mother and her five children facing homelessness in the recent extreme Michigan cold weather. Everything they owned was in the two shopping carts they were pushing. Officer Moon made a choice.
He stopped, and that decision made all the difference. Officer Moon and a fellow officer sprang into action, bringing the family to the police station and making countless calls until they connected with a local charity that stepped up to provide a hotel stay and other resources.
The officers then transported the entire family and their belongings to the charity, making sure they were in good hands.
But the officers’ compassion didn’t stop there. Knowing the children were hungry, they reached into their own pockets to make sure the family had a hot meal. These actions go beyond the call of duty and exemplify what it means to be a police officer. Serve and protect is the universal police motto.
These officers are a powerful example of leadership in action. It’s what they do.

Please read my books:
More like a hero. Leadership, yes. Hero, yes.
I see a pattern of poverty on large cities and the surrounding areas of large cities. But what is the solution?
As long as we pander to people, and in this case, it is not pandering, we will never give people the will and motivation to drag themselves out. We perpetuate the high status of single motherhood when it should be the opposite. Too many women think that single motherhood is the ultimate attainment when in fact, having fathers in the home is the very best thing that can happen to kids. We have our priorities screwed up.
This is not going to change. There is too much LACK of political will to do anything about it. Isn’t feminism grand?

HERO
Warren Police Department Officer Bryce Moon.
Indeed. There are many heroes among us, waiting to protect us from evil to from unfortunate circumstances. In this case, a woman and 5 children out in the cold. How they got there – thru her fault or not – Warren Police Department Officer Bryce Moon was there. This is the kind of man you would want in your foxhole when things get rough. 🙏 Pray for those in such situations.
I will also pray for them but I will also ask that we all also be on the lookout for such unfortunates.
