Clearing the Spindle: Corruption of Community

By | April 4, 2023

[April 4, 2023]  I came home on April Fool’s Day from five days in the hospital, limping from pain in my stomach (and my back), dizzy from painkillers, but happy to finally be sleeping in my bed and with my lovely wife, and having my dog sitting next to me.  Sometimes I might lose sight of what is important, but reality has its way of intruding.  This time alone laying in a hospital bed gave me time to reflect a bit, which is why today’s article is about the corruption of our communities.  Like any organization, there is an eternal tendency for corruption to seep in.  Our moral duty is to identify and remove corruption; the earlier, the better.  If we do not remove it, we will eventually be overcome by it.  And that is precisely what has happened in several large organizations like colleges and universities, political parties, local school boards, and even our own ideas about what is good and what is evil.  Corruption of our community is slow, malevolent, and bold.

Universities ignore reality and push for their own destruction.  Victor Davis Hanson, historian, writes about the most recent example at Stanford’s Law School, where law students shout down federal judge Kyle Duncan as if he was a cancer in society.  There was no evidence of any wrongdoing on his part, just that he is someone who does not toe the woke ideological line, so common in public higher education today.  Dr. Hanson believes that the universities are owned by the woke, hook, line and sinker.  The genuinely private universities, not so much.  Colleges and universities are now committed to racial discrimination on a massive scale and in agreement with the current Democrat Party government that controls Washington, DC.  Washington gives them free rein to discriminate in admission, housing, and hiring and suspends constitutional protections for faculty and staff if in service to progressive-regressive agendas.

The transgender movement claims community status.  One of the early claims of any movement is to be seen to claim ethical and religious status.  The movement is the future and brings only good and right to the masses.  Such is the current transgender movement as part of the woke ideology.  If this means ‘breaking a few eggs’ along the way, destroying the lives of weak, confused children and their parents, so be it.  Stories are emerging that medical institutions are pushing for the advancement of sex conversion on a large scale.  Many claim it’s all about the money; maybe they are right.  What is most scary is that there appears to be no ethical basis for their aggressive behavior.  Now it seems that the standard treatment for young patients experiencing discomfort with their sex is chemical and surgical “therapy.”  Unsurprisingly, the buildup of this ideology is claiming community status, everyone agrees, or we will destroy you.  The broken eggs are on the backs of young children, and their futures will be destroyed.  The woke ideological proponents do not care one whit.

Once again, Gen. Satterfield has given us his “clearing the spindle” which is an older and on-going mini-series. For those new to his blog, it is one of the more informative articles he publishes. I assume that there are so many things he wants to put out for us to consider that this is his way of saying “pay attention” to these items. Yes, I do agree they are important and we can expect more from him on these topics soon.

Great list of things to think about. I’d like to read more about the ‘transgender’ movement and what it really means from Gen. Satterfield’s view.

Here is another article worth reading. “Racist Left screams the quiet part out loud”
      https://jewishworldreview.com/0423/murdock040323.php
The Left loves to accuse whites of “implicit bias” and even “unconscious bias.” White people, they claim, are prejudiced, largely without knowing it. Apparently, white racism is now so subliminal that one needs a CT scan to find it. But for old-fashioned, out-in-the open racism, look Left. The same people who demand “Diversity! Equity! and Inclusion!” also scream the quiet part out loud.

Thank you Gen. Satterfield and welcome back. I know your recent journey was difficult but that is what life sometimes brings. Hold up you head and bull your way forward. That is the way of soldiers.

This is no surprise for those of us paying attention as our communities have become more and more corrupt. I see it in just about every organization, committee, and local organization. Scary that the lessons from the 20th century about this very ideology is completely missed. We will pay a great price when the bill comes due.

If only we had more Gen. Satterfields. More to write and more to mentor those who need to learn more about leadership and more about learning to be a better person because we can be better than we think we can be.

That is what it’s all about, for sure. Oakie, you just made my day. Yes, indeed, we need more Gen. Satterfield’s.

Keep these articles coming our way. Each one is insightful, entertaining, thoughtful, and inspiring. Just the kind of thing that I need to make my day a better one. Many will say that a website has very limited value and that may be true, but your website does more, much much more. Thank you Gen. Satterfield, and oh, I got a copy of your older book, “Our Longest Year in Iraq.” I’m learning a lot from reading it.
