Do Fear the Reaper!

[July 5, 2024]  A couple of days ago, Scott Johnson at PowerLineBlog posted an amusing post about the Presidential “campaign songs.”  This article is devoted to figuring out what the Biden-Harris theme song will be.  And Scott goes back a few years to give us examples from Bill Clinton, Al Gore, John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama.  I will admit that I was wrong and never gave this much thought.  Fear the Reaper.

Enjoy the songs for their artistic value, but they also carry a message not to be ignored.

“In 2020, the Biden campaign seems to have fastened on Coldplay’s “Sky Full of Stars” while they kept Biden himself in the basement.  He couldn’t see the stars.”

However, like any political campaign, things change, and predictably for the better.  Scott has contacted his “usually reliable sources” to identify possible theme songs for the Biden-Harris campaign, and we are not disappointed.

  1. Traffic’s “Shanghai Noodle Factory” – a node to the Biden Family business
  2. Ray Charles’s “I Don’t Need No Doctor,” written by Nick Ashford, Valerie Simpson, and Jo Armstead
  3. Blue Oyster Cult’s “Don’t Fear the Reaper” by Donald Roeser

If you haven’t identified the humor here, wake up and enjoy the roses.  But do please fear the reaper.

Those who regularly read Scott Johnson at PowerLineBlog have given us a few more to think about.  Here are some of their suggestions:

  • “Blowin’ in the Wind” by Bob Dylan
  • “They’re Coming to Take Me Away, Ha Ha! By Napoleon XIV
  • “Don’t Worry, Be Happy!” by Bobby McFerrin
  • “Right Place, Wrong Time” by Dr. John
  • “Rainbow Stew” by Merle Haggard
  • “Dirty Laundry” by Don Henley and “Is the head dead yet” for Kamala
  • “Dazed & Confused” by Zeppelin

You can’t make this kind of stuff up!

🇺🇸 Like Gen. Satterfield, I too am an American Patriot 🇺🇸
And for that reason I do find humor in things, much unlike my Democrat ‘friends’ who are mostly humorless and simpletons.
🇺🇸 America is the right place to be in this time in history and I’d proud to be a contributing member. 🇺🇸

Let’s wish that we all did. And, yes, I liked this article too. I went to find all these songs and enjoyed each of them. Most were uplifting. The words however …. that is another matter.

A wise person once told me that while there is a plethora of things to take very seriously in this life, taking oneself too seriously is not among them. Whacko leftists are off running the country and they have no humor, no morals (because they say morals are ‘relative’), no boundaries (because that’s racist), and no life except their protests against America and freedom. They see themselves as moral superiors and will do anything to make you comply with their rules — which is that humor makes fun of people and that is unacceptable. Every whacko liberal leftist has a dictator inside wanting to get out. Beware of leftists.

Yep, and Gen. Satterfield is DA MAN who is highlighting this for us to think about. Drawing on the ideas of others is the epitome of good thinking and good statesmanship. If you want to be a better person and be successful in your life, look to those who are already better and successful. Duh! You would think that is common sense. But nooooo. Political liberals are found at the bottom of any pit you run across in America because they will beat you with their words and drag you down with them.

Got a good one here, Gen. Satterfield. A little humor goes a long way to frustrating leftists because they have zero humor in them. We can make fun of them all day and it drives them crazy.

Got that right, Wellington. Thank you. “Nothing really affects comedy. People always need it, they need it so badly and they don’t get it,” Jerry Seinfeld said. “It used to be, you would get home at the end of the day and most people would say, ‘oh Cheers is on. MASH is on. Mary Tyler Moore is on. All in the Family is on.’ You just expected, ‘there’ll be some funny stuff we can watch on TV tonight.’ Well, guess what? Where is it?” Seinfeld continued, “this is the result of the extreme left, and PC crap, and people worrying so much about offending other people. He sure knows his stuff.

I love Jerry Seinfeld’s stand up comedy. If you ever get a chance to see it, go there in person.
