Facebook: Talking about Censorship

By | July 31, 2023

[July 31, 2023] Recent revelations from the U.S. House of Representatives have turned up Facebook documents that show the Biden Administration has been pushing social media companies into censoring content that the U.S. government does not like.  Under threat of contempt by Congress, Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook founder) produced the files requested by Rep. Jim Jordan.  These files show conclusively the Administration used social media to impose censorship on ideas they disfavor.

@Jim_Jordan, on Twitter

Never-before-released internal documents subpoenaed by the Judiciary Committee PROVE that Facebook and Instagram censored posts and changed their content moderation policies because of unconstitutional pressure from the Biden White House.

We’ve known this for some time now and also that those same social media companies have happily complied with the Biden Administration; they are ideological soul mates.   Last month, I wrote in Talking About Free Speech that a Federal Judge in Louisiana restricted the U.S. Government from communicating with social media platforms about broad swaths of content online.

It is also clear that the unprecedented COVID pandemic prompted the suppression of “disfavored” ideas.  It is sad when a government interferes with the speech of others during a developing crisis.  However, there is more that President Joe Biden wanted.  He wanted full compliance from everyone in America and saw that all opposing views were “anti-democratic” and thus had to be suppressed.

We will be reading about this unconstitutional action on the part of Joe Biden and his Administration for centuries in the future.  This is now a message to all free people on how not to act during a crisis.  The slow judicial system is gearing up to stop this unlawful activity.  Many are asking if anyone will go to jail for blatant and illegal activities by the “U.S. Government?”  Sadly, jail is unlikely because of a corrupt Department of Justice.  Their exposure for the world to see will have to be good enough for today.

We can now conclusively say that free speech during a crisis is more important than ever imagined.

This should be the norm. If you lay down with Evil, then don’t be surprised it you become what you tolerate.

… Qassim, this is such a common sense approach and a lesson that humans learned long ago but today, have obviously forgotten. Our parents failed to teach our young or our young have failed to heed this crucial lesson in human endeavors. Learn to be prepared and trust in God and you might just start down the difficult, but righteous path to the glory of God.

Sad that it has come to censorship when our values are completely the opposite.

USA Patriot said it best. Censorship is easy. Also, evil is easy. Doing the right thing to oppose evil and oppose censorship is hard. What we do here is hard.

    Censorship is easy.
    Freedom is hard.
Liberals and their progressive allies love the easy way out of any difficulty and will 100% take the common, most well-lighted, most popular path. And that is often not the right way.

America first, period. America is the world’s leader. For all you snowflakes out there who think America is a bad country, no problem, just move to ANY other country and within two months you will be begging to come back here. Go, go now and stop being such a hypocrite.

Yes, and so we have here a new beginning but “action” is what matters most.

Right, time for action but let us not forget that there needs to be a place where ideas are discussed and this leadership forum is one of them. We can test ideas but also any description of possible actions we might take. So, if I want to write an article to my local newspaper on the horrors of transgenderism, I can put the letter here for input and with luck, others will comment and make my letter that much better. Thanks to those who read this forum.

Gen. Satterfield today has given us a very short article but there is much to peel back the many layers for us to really understand where he is going with it. I find it a tad bit unusual that he is offering his opinion. Typically, he just lays out the facts. Not in this case. He is being very upfront when he says, “It is sad when a government interferes with the speech of others during a developing crisis.” Sad is a word rarely used here. Why? I think it shows that Gen. Satterfield is very concerned as a prominent leader. Most of our leaders are fully unwilling to say they are ‘saddened’ by what is happening. Let us not forget to stand up to freedom and that means getting out of our comfort zones, going to school board and community meetings and letting our neighbors where we stand. No more virtue signaling.

Right Erik, the first step is to SEE the evil, the next step is to speak up when we SEE it.

Thank you Gen. Satterfield for re-emphasizing the hell that Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg have given us. He is the devil in many ways and his actions will go down in American history as one of the most shameful moments of the 21st century. Oh, I loved your book “Our Longest Year in Iraq.” Keep up the great works you are doing.

Well said. There is evil in our land and it is enticing for the young who believe they are superior to us and yet, are falling for the evil hook line and sinker.

Getting rid of EVIL is no easy task. Like Hitler, Zuckerberg and his minions think they are doing good for humanity.
