[March 6, 2022] My wife yelled over to me yesterday and said, “Hey, take a look at this guy!” I was working on an article for a local newspaper (on how military veterans are treated). I stopped typing to listen to her. “This guy Dan Ball has a show on OANN called Hungry Heroes; you might want to watch it.”
So, being the accommodating husband that I can sometimes be, I found the site and watched several episodes. It was terrific. I’m surprised it is not as popular as I would imagine. Technically, it has high-quality video and content. Watch it, and you will not be disappointed.
Dan Ball, a U.S. Air Force veteran, is an Emmy award-winning journalist and currently the host of “Real America.” Dan was raised by his maternal grandmother, who taught him the importance of conservative and Christian values.1
Committed to serving others and highlighting heroes who serve their fellow man, Dan launched a brand new reality show, Hungry Heroes, this past summer. The show features Dan traveling our great nation, profiling heroes, getting his hands dirty doing their jobs, then breaking bread with them, all to show America how our heroes fuel their minds, bodies and souls.
Those “heroes” he highlights are the police, wounded warriors, firefighters, sheriffs, mounted police, ambulance drivers and EMTs. The setting of his shows is the place these heroes work and where they eat, and what they eat. The show is a combination of documentaries and the best restaurants.
His shows are found on YouTube, Rumble, OANN, HungryHeroesTV, and other social media platforms like Facebook. The links here take you to the episodes. Watch them. I did. Great stuff.

Please read my new book, “Our Longest Year in Iraq,” at Amazon (link here).
Don’t overlook this guy Dan Ball. Smart, young, looks good and talks with clarity. About time someone like Mr. Ball is stepping up.
I saw the many videos posted and they were indeed entertaining. I like the linkage of food, veterans, and helping others. Great connection to think about and what makes the shows so well done.
Good thing that there are many social platforms that carry the show. I’m also surprised more folks are watching. You would expect, at least I expect, more to watch because it is a great show. If nothing else, it’s about cooking and eating. we all like that.
Hey Lady Hawk, good point. I sure do.
Yes, thanks Lady Hawk. This show should go mainstream. Maybe it will just take time.
I watched two episodes and liked it. THX!
“Hey, take a look at this guy!” What a start? Great. Thanks to Gen. Satterfield’s wife, we have a new source of great info.
Gen. Satterfield, it’s been a while now since you’ve published your book, ‘Our Longest Year in Iraq.” Just wondering how well the sales are going and what kind of feedback you are getting. I have my copy and I’ve read it now three times (just to make sure I got all the details). A normal person would miss most of what you are saying. Great. Thank you.
Greg, as you know, we are long-time fans of Gen. Satterfield and it should come as no surprise that he writes like he thinks and talks.
Gen. Satterfield, good thing you have a supportive wife. And, I’m sure she is helping take care of you after your hospital stay.
Excellent article today and thank you, once again from your fan club, for exposing great resources. This Dan Ball seems like a great guy. Oh, yes, great technical quality.
Yes, and just another reason for coming to this website.
Good thing that Gen. Satterfield is an “accommodating” husband. Ha ha. I’m not so sure he is always that way. It takes a special personality to be a senior leader and having others tell you what to do, usually doesn’t fit the narrative.
Tried it out, thanks. Love it. Dan Ball is great.
Yep, we find a gem now and then. If we do, then study why it works or does not work. I see that Dan Ball does not get much exposure. I’m going to spend more time watching his stuff. ✔
This is one of the main ideas that Gen. Satterfield has for us. His entire website is dedicated, IMHO, to this very idea that if we find something that is working, then intellectually take it apart, study it, roll it around and find out why it’s working. Do the same thing for those things that fail. You will find patterns over time. Those patterns are the meta-stories or meta-values that have been around since the beginning of humankind.
Good idea, glad that Gen. Satterfield highlighted Dan Ball for us.
