[December 25, 2017] What do leaders do on Christmas? What is it that they may (or may not do) on Christmas or on any holiday of the year? The answer is simple if we know the leader is good at what they do. That leader is out and about visiting others, helping where they can, and generally making sure they are doing good things. If there is any leadership lesson from Christmas, this is one that ranks right up there with the best.
What leaders do on Christmas is something others will admire them for. It shows they “care” about others and that such a willingness to help is part of the credibility of only those with the finest leader skills. What they do does not take practice, money, or much effort but it does take time and energy; something fairly easy to do.
Look around on any special holiday to see them; often in the back of a soup kitchen washing dishes, handing out goodies to kids in need, helping with non-profit organizations, and in the main just being a good person in the community. Do we need more of them – giving back? Yes! … and we need more people encouraging it.
We also need to remind everyone that Christmas is about religion and the good that it does for all. One who attempts to separate Christmas from Christianity is only kidding themselves and are not acting the way a great leader would act.
That is why I write about it today. Be a real leader; one who is selfless and cares about others. Acknowledge and practice Christianity (or whatever religion you prefer). Everyone else just steps aside and let a leader do good things.
Merry Christmas to all my readers.
