Moral Courage: Stephanie Turner

By | April 7, 2025

[April 7, 2025]  It should be obvious to anyone who understands moral courage  that Fencer Stephanie Turner possesses that rare attribute. What needs to be made clear is why Stephanie had to stand for fairness in women-only in sports.

She took a knee in her refusal to compete against a man in a regional fencing championship. The man, Redmond Sullivan (a self-described trans woman), had finished in last place on the men’s JV team in the previous year.

The response from the referees was to issue Stephanie a black card, the most severe penalty, meaning expulsion from the tournament. USA Fencing defended the move stating:

“USA Fencing enacted our current transgender and nonbinary athlete policy in 2023. The policy was designed to expand access to the sport of fencing and create inclusive, safe spaces. The policy is based on the principle that everyone should have the ability to participate in sports and was based upon the research available of the day.” — USA Fencing quoted on Foxnews, April 4, 2025

USA Fencing has now expelled a woman from a women’s event, for refusing to compete against a man. This is a clear Title IX violation and should be treated as such by the DOJ.  I’m sure that USA Fencing will hear from the government lawyers soon.

As should happen in a fair, sane, prudent, and moral world where stupidity raises its ugly head, the USA Fencing organization is receiving considerable backlash. And the extremist position taken by USAFA officials here is both misguided, shows a lack of respect for real women, and is likely illegal.

Women like Stephanie who stand against unfair play in fencing, like sny other sport should be applauded for their courage.

Stephanie Turner should sue the USA Fencing for violating her civil rights as a female. She was punished for refusing to compete with a biological male which was totally unfair to her.

Mainer, I agree. And I fully support and stand with Ms. Stephanie Turner’s position, in this case kneel and refusal to fence a male competitor. The biological male has to many physical advantages over female competitors. In the article the male competitor while competing against other male competitors was never a factor in a win, but after switching he became a two time gold medalist. Did any one else notice that 39 of the 50 states were blacklisted. Ok where are my rich investors, we need to start up a U.S. “Women’s” Fencing league, where only biological women can compete. 🕷🕷🕷🕷

It’s beyond frustrating that yet again, women are expected to step aside in the name of “inclusion.” Female athletes have fought for decades for fair competition, only to now be told that biological differences don’t matter. This isn’t about exclusion, It’s about fairness. Women deserve a level playing field, not one where they’re forced to silently accept policies that undermine their hard-earned opportunities.

Title IX and Sex Discrimination means nothing to Leftists because it doesn’t fit their Marxist views.
