‘Old Glory’ Links Us to America: Flag Day 2024

By | June 14, 2024

[June 14, 2024]  Each year, on Flag Day, I get to remind my fellow Veterans that today is more than remembering our national flag.  ‘Old Glory’ – as many like to call her – is the epitome of a moral good.  She links us to America, our past and future.  And that is no trivial matter in 2024 or any time.

I’m reminded of one of my relatives during the American Revolution who fought at the Battle of Brandywine.  This battle is where Frenchman Marquis de Lafayette organized a retreat when the British were about to crush the fledgling American forces.  On my mother’s side of the family, Minuteman William Smith, carrying his regimental flag into battle, lived that day to tell his children of the great battle against the mighty British army.

Our flag links us to our past, but our American flag is rightly associated with the greatest moral good on earth.  We must believe that we have a future, if for no other reason than to show our children and grandchildren our confidence in the American way of life.

There will always be traitors in our nation who deny that America is exceptional.  They believe America is evil and must be destroyed.  I’m not writing about Islamic terrorists, nations like Russia, China, and North Korea, or even about those who oppose our political system.  Those who strike at the heart of America live among us.

My message is that there is a real Evil that stalks the world.  Yet, it is our responsibility to protect America.  Never fear, for good will win over evil.

Enjoy Flag Day 2024.  And remember that ‘Old Glory’ is here to stay, but only if each of us dares to stand up with her.

🇺🇸 Loved this article. But I expected to love it. And I love America. Even the communists and socialists who live here and every day disparage America, do in fact, love America or they would have left us long ago. Says a lot about them doesn’t it? 🇺🇸

One of the best articles ever written by Gen. Satterfield.
      Happy Flag Day.
Fly your American flags today. Not just one but more. Spread them out in your yard on put them on your car, or just carry it to the store with you when you buy groceries. Let others know you are proud of America and the American flag. Don’t let the crazies get the upper hand. Some are just lost mentally and can eventually be saved from their radical leftist ideology. Some will grow out of it when they realize their leftist stance is a non-starter.

Here is an article from NPR, that has become progressively anti-American over time. Sadly, we fund NPR with our tax dollars. I hope that Trump when he is elected, immediately stops funding this organization that spouts anti-American propaganda. Here is one of their articles on Flag Day last year. “We asked Americans how they feel about the U.S. flag. It got interesting” https://www.npr.org/2020/10/12/922272134/we-asked-americans-how-they-feel-about-the-u-s-flag-it-got-interesting Clearly, the little authors Brian Mann and Piper McDaniel are recent college graduates, you can easily tell from their simpleton understanding of what the American flag stands for. Read Gen. Satterfield if you want to get a better feel for our flag, “old Glory.”

I quit listening to NPR more than a decade ago. They are simpletons over there.

Jonnie and Autistic, yeah, they suck. Programming is lackluster. They have a terrible bias against America for some reason that they cannot even articulate. What is wrong with them? Nothing that shutting them down can’t fix.

HAPPY FLAG DAY. Fly the American Flag today and always. Respect the flag. Why? Gen. Satterfield answered that question. Read his article again if you didn’t get it.

🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 Happy Flag Day. I’ll be out on my BBQ grill here at lunch time and have friends over to celebrate. And, I have little American flags all over my property. And if someone like a Democrat comes to remove one of them, because they do hate America, well, I have a 12 gauge shotgun loaded with salt crystals. It will be fun having the ER doctor removing salt from their ass. Happy Flag Day. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Simply put, the Democrat Party has become a party of traitors to our nation.

Doug Smith, I think that is maybe a bit of an overreach. While it is true that the biggest problem America has are political leftists who have gone too far and trampled upon our nation, its values, our flag ‘old glory’, and the constitution, they are few in number. What I am sad about is that many of them are TODAY in congress as elected officials. That is shameful that our citizens elect those who are traitors to our nation.

True, HM. What is most weird is that these same traitors to American claim in a bold-faced lie that they are “protecting” American Democracy. Such wildly crazy talk should be shamed in front of congress, not supported by them under the rubric of “protected speech.” A traitor is a traitor and you should lose all your rights when you decide to stand against America. HAPPY FLAG DAY.
