Edit [June 11, 2023] The funeral yesterday was conducted with just the right amount of planning to make it one of the best attended that I’ve seen in a long time. Many from the community were there to give their respects to the family of PFC Hartmann. There was no political grandstanding or long speeches. It was full of caring folks wanting to honor the fallen. It is good that the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency is still working diligently to bring our missing home from war.
[June 10, 2023] That’s right. I’m out of town today. I’ll be attending the funeral of a Korean War soldier later this morning in a nearby town. I will be giving a short talk and taking time to meet the family of that soldier and his family and several Korean War veterans who will be there too.
If you ever get a chance and are very lucky, maybe you will meet one of our World War II or Korean War veterans. There are very few of them. Please treat them respectfully. Please treat them with the dignity that they deserve. Treat them like family and welcome them home. Home means something to them that we have a hard time even imagining. For us, home is just a place to hang our hat. To them, it is everything.
In a few days, on June 25, 2023, the 73rd anniversary of the invasion of South Korea by the Communist North Korean army. This is not a day of celebration but another day in infamy.

Please read my books:
Excellent, thank you Gen. Satterfield and the rare photograph of you and others. Keep up the great blog you have here.
Right Veronica. There are just too many selfish young folks that think “war is bad.” But their thinking rarely goes beyond that obvious statement. The peoples of South Korea know that well and that is why they are so respectful of those who helped save their nation.
Love photos. 👀👀👀👀👀
Wow, good luck today Gen. Satterfield. I know that others said this, but I will emphasize the point, please give us info on how the funeral went today. Thank you for what you are doing.
Bam, nailed it. 😎
Gen. Satterfield wrote, “If you ever get a chance and are very lucky, maybe you will meet one of our World War II or Korean War veterans. There are very few of them. Please treat them respectfully. Of course, Emma. Gen. S. is a powerful writer and very respectful human being. If you want to witness the opposite, then go to southside Chicago for an education.
Best of luck today, Gen. S. !!!!!!!!!!!!
Keep us informed, Gen. Satterfield. We will miss your daily input.
Yep.
Gen. Satterfield will defininately keep us in the loop. That is what he does best. Gen. S., with all our respect, please pass along our most deep condolences and respect to the family and friends of this fallen Korean War veteran. If only we had the opportunity to do so in person, then we would also be blessed with his presence.
Loving this site and General Satterfield.
💕💕💕💕💕
Don’t we all appreciate this site. But, it is more than a simple website on leadership. There are many of them. I liike reading the forum here because you can actually get real feedback from the writers. And that is indeed hard to do, if not impossible to do elsewhere. And, get a copy of Gen. Satterfield’s books. You will be happy you did.
Good luck at the funeral and let us know how it all turned out.
