Pete Hegseth to be Secretary of Defense

By | November 15, 2024

[November 15, 2024] President-elect Donald Trump just announced his pick for Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth. The choice took me by surprise but only because I knew very little about him and he is atypically young.

I’d planned on writing about Pete becoming SECDEF but NY Post writer Miranda Devine wrote that she is an enthusiastic supporter of Pete becoming our most recent SECDEF.

“Intelligent, articulate, patriotic, a graduate of Princeton and Harvard, a combat veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, with two bronze stars, [Pete] Hegseth, 44, is an inspired choice to lead the Pentagon and rid it of the woke poison that has sent recruitment levels down the toilet. Not only that, but he has a tattoo of ‘We the People’ on his arm, a visible sign of his America First commitment to the Constitution, whose first words remind us that America at its founding rejected rule by elites.”

Trump is taking a lot of pushback on his selection of Hegseth. More than anything, the criticism comes from two major sources. First, and not unexpected, Democrats hate him for being a Fox News host and for being unabashedly patriotic. Second, some Republicans are surprised because they expected someone with more experience, perhaps a senior and retired Flag Officer, someone much older and statesman-like.

“He is the perfect patriot to restore the morale of a dispirited military that has seen humiliation heaped on top of indignity in the Biden-Harris era — from the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan to the collapse of the Gaza pier, not to mention the exhibitionistic sexual fetishism that seems to have infected elements of the armed forces.”

Hegseth has been given the mission to stop the destructive CRT and DEI woke ideology. GEN. Mark Milley said “I want to understand white rage.”  There will be no more of this garbage kowtowing to radical progressive ideas. To Hegseth, this is all nonsense.

“ … we should only be focusing on readiness and meritocracy and lethality, Hegseth said on a Fox News interview last year.”

If you’re a Veteran or are embedded within the military establishment, then you will understand Hegseth when he says that “you’re in for war fighting, and that’s the only litmus test we care about.”  He’s absolutely correct. There should never be social experiments within the military.

Pete Hegseth’s military philosophy is similar to President Ronald Reagan’s — “Peace through strength.”

Well, looks like more winning for America. With a real patriot as Secretary of Defense, we will be safer, much safer than with the current idiot in charge. The Pentagon needs to be purged of Woke Generals and Admirals. We will be better off without them. Some are ready to retire, let’s help them along. And, BTW, pull their security clearances too before they are kicked out.

Just anybody randomly chosen from the Chicago telephone book would be a better pick for Secretary of Defense than the idiot Lloyd Austin. That man was a DEI hire right out of the box. And he’s dumber than Joe Biden, and that’s saying alot.

Kamala Harris was a horror. America dodged a bullet by not electing her. Thank God that we will now become a strong and good nation once the Biden-Harris cabal is gone. Our past 4 years have damaged us, but real Americans are coming back and that will benefit all Americans even the idiot, propagandized, elites from the liberal coasts. They are losers and they now have to face it. We welcome them into the MAGA movement but they will have to work and adopt responsibilities for the first time in their adult lives.

The Biden Crime Family will finally be gone in January to never be seen or heard from again. This will be a great day for America. I’m not tired of winning.

Hegseth did tours in Guantanamo Bay, Iraq and Afghanistan and was the recipient of two Bronze Stars and a Combat Infantryman’s Badge. In his statement, Trump also cited Hegseth’s book, The War on Warriors.

    Trump’s announcement drew surprised reactions.

Paul Rieckhoff, founder of Independent Veterans of America, wrote on X, “I first met Hegseth when he started running Vets for Freedom around 2007. He is a highly effective and ferocious media, culture and political warrior for MAGA. And beyond loyal to and trusted by Trump. I figured Trump would pick probably pick him for Chief of Staff or Press Secretary. But this… Hegseth is undoubtedly the least qualified nominee for SecDef in American history. And the most overtly political. Brace yourself, America.”

Great news. I was also surprised at Trump’s selection of Mr. Hegseth but I’m sure the choice will work out. Trump has an innate talent to pick great people to work for him. Pete Hegseth will be one of the best SECDEFs in history.

Yep. In the meantime, I’m looking forward to hearing more from Mr. Hegseth, a no-nonsense kind of guy that I like. Gen. Satterfield and others here in this forum have noted the positive change that will come about as soon as the DEI-hire and current failed SECDEF Lloyd Austin gets his ass out of that position. We have seen too many failures in our senior military ranks. Hegseth has promised to find those Generals and Admirals who pushed CRT and DEI and Trans ideology and fire them. That is great news!!!!!!! Please fire them publicly so we all can see for ourselves the ramifications of failure. Personally, I’d like to be the one who goes to their office and say, YOU’RE FIRED. 😂😂😂😂😂 America is back, baby!

“Pete has spent his entire life as a Warrior for the Troops, and for the Country. Pete is tough, smart and a true believer in America First. With Pete at the helm, America’s enemies are on notice – Our Military will be Great Again, and America will Never Back Down.” — President-elect Donald J. Trump

Sweeney, it’s great news for the WORLD. Every terror-inspired group of thugs are now on public notice that Trump is going to target them. Mess with an American and you’re dead. Pure and simple foreign policy, only fools would oppose us. This is exactly the opposite of the weak, effete, pantywaist policy of the incompetent Biden-Harris Administration. Men are now taking over, with some strong women. Now, for those wanting more insight into Gen. Satterfield how he sees this, read his books. See links above.
