[August 12, 2021] In a recent incident this past Saturday night, the police turned their backs to anti-police Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot when she visited the hospital where an officer is in critical condition. The officers’ female partner, Ella French, died from injuries suffered at a routine traffic stop. Two brothers were arrested for her murder.1
The hospitalized officer’s father, a retired police officer, told Mayor Lightfoot directly that she is to blame for his son’s situation, and he doesn’t appreciate her being there. Mayor Lightfoot has blood on her hands. When the Mayor approached a group of officers, they all turned their backs to her.
John Catanzara, Jr., Chicago Fraternal Order of Police, told the story of when Lightfoot arrived at the hospital. Several hundred officers had been waiting to get an update on the injured officer. There is an enormous amount of pent-up anger and frustration and a sense of betrayal among the officers.
“There was a very palpable, angry, resentful police force [present]. It wasn’t because of the incident but because the Mayor was there and who led to a lot of problems in the police department … Because of policies that have been encouraged, propagandized, and actually promoted by city and state officials, these criminals think they can do whatever they want with no repercussions.” – John Catanzara, Jr.
The reaction of the Chicago Police to their Mayor, who nominally heads the police department, is what failed leadership looks like. A recent ideological leftist position gained traction in the United States since the election of Joe Biden as President. Biden has done nothing to thwart the malevolence of this movement and has, by default, become part of it.
We cannot overlook the importance of the lesson for leaders. Good leaders are those who can recognize evil when they see it and are willing to take action to stop it. Very few politicians have the guts to stand up to it. And, in the state of Illinois, they have failed miserably. In this case, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is evil, and only the street cop dares to stand against her.

We need to thank Gen. Satterfield for shinning a bright light on a bad situation in Chicago, and, on other occasions, elsewhere. I like it when he does and names names. That is what real leadership looks like. If you are unwilling to say it like it is, then retire. But not Gen. Satterfield. He’s on it. Thank God for people like him.
Get out of Chicago while you can, folks. Evil has manifested itself there and you cannot stand up against it because too many powerful political leaders are in favor of it. Like (p)resident Joe Biden and his laughing VP Ka-ma-la Harris. Morons in charge.

Well said but I think whenever you have such a horrific situation where the Mayor advocates for destruction of the police department (who are sworn to protect and defend), the you have an opportunity to do good things and bring the city back around. Getting out is not the answer. Stay and fight it. That is the way and the only responsible way to fight this evil that Lori Lightfoot represents.
I left Chicago years ago and I am happy for the move. Now I live in Florida.
Remember this: DEFUND THE POLICE is a Democrat Party core value. Never ever ever forget that.

It is rare that we get such a powerful lesson in how to fail in your leadership position. Chicago Mayor Lightfoot has delivered this message to us in spades. Now, let’s learn from it. Very appropriate comment. I lived in Chicago for years and still have relatives there. They’re getting out now while they can get a decent price for their homes. Property values are falling and the police are reluctant to do anything about crime. Sad.
