Profile:  Michael Bloomberg

[January 25, 2020]  Michael Bloomberg is an exceptional businessman who moved into politics and leveraged his business acumen to advance the interests of New York City as mayor.  He also has an enormous net worth that vastly exceeds that of Donald Trump.  Late last year, seeing a field of weak Democrat Party candidates, he decided to jump into the fray using his own money.

As a Wall Street billionaire, Bloomberg has an uphill struggle with the Progressive arm of the Democrat Party.  The current roster of leading candidates has all come out to harangue the rich and use them as a pin-up of all that is wrong with America.  Given Bloomberg’s success as mayor of NYC, there is little that would go over well in his new status as candidate Bloomberg.  He has done this by going on an apology tour, precisely what he said he would not do.

There are several leadership characteristics that Michael Bloomberg has in his rucksack that are common among the most successful.

  • Outgoing and Creative (usually these do not go together)
  • Calculated risk-taker
  • Open and Outgoing
  • Smart, Articulate, and Hard Working
  • Strategic thinker
  • Great business acumen
  • Tough and Strong-willed
  • Winners attitude

“I think if you look at people, whether in business or government, who haven’t had any moral compass, who’ve just changed to say whatever they thought the popular thing was, in the end, they’re losers.” – Michael Bloomberg, U.S. Presidential candidate2

One of the most successful aspects of Bloomberg’s success in NYC was the “stop and frisk” policy that saved lives and made New York City, one of the safest big cities in the world.  But this policy is regularly condemned by the Democrat Party as racist.  To get credibility with his party, Bloomberg decided to apologize for using stop and frisk, despite it saving lives.1

Bloomberg will also have to contend with a litany of sexual harassment allegations that have stacked up against him over the years.3  He will have a tough time making all this work in his favor.  Bloomberg is an odd match for a Progressive party that is passionately animated by a concern for inequality and civil rights of women and minorities.

We’ll soon see how well Bloomberg’s apology tour de force affects his rise or fall in the polls.  He is being branded as a jobs creator, leader, and problem solver.  That much is true, but he is still far down in the polls.

I would love to have Mike Bloomberg as President but I won’t vote for him.

Mike Bloomberg has a ZERO chance of being elected President of the US and he knows it. Maybe he is rerunning, really, to be the VP.

The polls show he is near the bottom compared to even Elizabeth Warren who is falling in the polls. Bloomberg can’t even beat a fake Indian woman.

One of the core tenants of Bloomberg’s campaign is job creation. His company, Bloomberg LP, currently employs nearly 20,000 people. He “will work to strengthen the middle class, invest in education, create good-paying jobs in renewable energy and other industries,” according to his campaign website.

Another is that he would make climate a top priority. The US would rejoin the Paris climate accord. This means more restrictive regulations. People like him think that more laws and regulations is the solution. I say incentives to do well work better.

Here is M. Bloomberg’s Twitter account and how he sees his mission in this presidential election:

Entrepreneur, philanthropist, three-term mayor of New York City, father, grandfather, data nerd. Running for president to defeat Donald Trump & rebuild America.

Thanks Len. I read his Twitter account and it’s full of vague, generally myopic comments like the following.
“America is at its best when we work together to find meaningful and lasting solutions to our big challenges. Defeating Trump – and rebuilding America – is the most urgent and important fight of our lives, and I’m going all in.”

I’m glad he is on Twitter. Probably has some staffer doing the writing however. Not cool. His words though since he has to approve them. I say, keep writing. It gives us more insight into how NOT to support you, Mike. ?

Right on, Tracey. Bloomberg thinks he can “buy” the election. And the man is filthy rich. If I had 53 Billion dollars, you can bet I wouldn’t be degrading myself like he has done over the past two months since entering the race.

Very biased article, very anti-Trump and clueless about America. But it does tell us something about Bloomberg and the black voting block that always goes for Democrats.

Yeah, and he is not the only one. Bernie Sanders is another. Looks like the Democrats are just running a bunch of old, white, socialist, apologists on tour to make themselves more powerful and richer.

Bloomberg is fully in step with today’s Democrats on gun regulation. He has used some of his massive fortune to fund groups including “Everytown for Gun Safety,” which advocates for extremist gun regulations.

Yes, he is like all the others ….. morally superior and willing to spend your money for his newest ideas on restricting freedom. He is like another socialist dictator wannabe. I’m surprised at how fast he apologized for his past successes. Pandering to the black vote? Yes. Pandering to the young socialist vote? Yes. What next? I don’t think he has ever a prayer to get elected. Too many of the DNC contestants have already “apologized for my transgressions.”

Despite spending $100 million on his national launch, Bloomberg has gained only a handful of points in the polls.

He’s a New Yorker and like all New Yorkers he is anti-gun (or really I should say anti-2nd amendment). What this really means is that he picks and chooses what the Constitution says and throws out the rest.

When he decided not to run in the spring, Bloomberg mocked Joe Biden for launching with an “apology tour.” Bloomberg has now embarked on one of his own.

Yep, his very own apology tour. Bloomberg recently visited a black church to apologize for his embrace of stop-and-frisk policing: “I can’t change history, however today I want you to know that I realize back then I was wrong and I’m sorry.”

Stupid is as stupid does. Bloomberg just stepped in it by his apology tour, which is like both Obama and Biden. Both of these men are examples why children should not run for Congress.
