[April 12, 2025] I’ve been working on the idea of writing about a roadmap to becoming a stronger man (okay, yes, women, too). For many years, I thrashed this around in my head, and yet the idea has not developed enough for an article, much less a book. This journey is one that begins like all journeys: one step, then another, then another.
Here are some of my thoughts to put them down on paper so I don’t forget what I’ve discovered. That, in itself, will be an adventure, a real challenge, and a truly noble goal. What have I learned?
We must first answer the question, “What is a stronger man?” This is about wisdom and those ideas that have proven successful over a great span of time that help men rise above mediocrity, reclaim purpose, and build a life of strength, depth, and meaning. There is a crisis of the modern man – especially young men – failing health, unmarried, harassed for their masculinity, high unemployment and crime, and less educated about the world than at any point in recent history.
Depression, anxiety, and loneliness are spiking. Today, masculinity is viewed as toxic, counterproductive, or irrelevant. The problem is that men are disconnected from their families, communities, and nation. There must be a movement for men to reclaim wisdom, virtue, courage, discipline, and honor. To the ancients, being a strong man was not about status or riches but about self-control, about the capacity to be dangerous but a controlled danger. This is about the trained warrior who knows how to use his sword but keeps it sheathed until necessary to use it.
“No man is free who is not a master of himself.” — Epictetus
The roadmap is an ancient one. Many of the parts that make up a strong man can be found in ancient stories, those that have risen to the top of all others and survived because they have captured the idea of eternal meaning. One of those is the great story of the “hero.” There is a pattern to how the hero undertakes his journey and I’ll explore that later in some detail.

Sir, thanks for another gerat post on what it takes to be a real man.
What is a stronger man? Now, Gen. Satterfield is giving us an answer to a long-awaited question. Pay attention here folks. There is nothing better than reading what Gen. S thinks about real men. There are just too few of them these days because the younger generations are a bunch of wimps. Gen Z is also crazy.
Hi bloke. Great writing. I only wish there were someone here writing about being a real CHAP.
Eh? Hey Brit guy. Love you guys. And, I must agree wholeheartedly that the Brits sure do need an injection of manhood into your society, and especially into your sissy politicians. The last big man you had was a woman … what was her name? Oh, year. Margaret Thatcher. She was a real guy in terms of providing leadership and getting things done. She had more balls than any of your dude politicians today. Hey, we still love you guys, so don’t ever ever give up. If you want to learn more about leadership, come to America. It’s where we sort out the good from the bad and do so quickly. And our police don’t arrest people for wrongthink.
I’m looking forward to this and learning about being a good, stronger man. 😀
Let us hope that this new series will be the MOST beneficial and useful for young men who have been told they are useless by the feminist movement advocates. We have destroyed many men before they even get a chance to show that they can be men. The fourth wave of feminism has not only harmed men greatly but it has also destroyed the family structure and young women. Women are being lied to when we say the greatest thing they can do in life is be a boss babe. Well, now that they are boss babes, they are childless, living with their cats, and alone.
… and the lies for women are so pervasive, now over 50 percent of all women in America are childless and will remain so for the rest of their lives. The wall is undefeated.
mainer, I never heard it put quite that way about “the wall being undefeated” but once a woman hits a certain age, their childbearing capability shuts down. Any man who wants children, better not marry a woman at the wall or they both will have a terrible life of going all out for Invitro to conceive. Nope, almost never works out well. Those women have been propagandized and they don’t know it but many will realize it once they hit about 35 years old, and then it is about too late.
Excellent endeavor. Will you accept suggestions? 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
Sir, I wish you the best in this project to give us a roadmap to becoming a stronger man. And YES! Please make it about MEN, not women. They can learn from it to support stronger men and not denigrate men.
And, welcome Marco. Great to have you on board the train to greatness. And being a good man.
