WW1 Centenial[November 07, 2013]  Next year in 2014, the 100th anniversary of World War I will be marked by a number of significant events pointing to the heroic sacrifice made by brave men and women of the United States.  “The War to End all Wars” or “The Great War,” as it has been called, was being fought while the US was still a developing nation.

Although the First World War began in 1914, the US did not officially declare war on Germany until April 6, 1917.  Nevertheless, we will begin honoring the sacrifices in special ceremonies beginning next year for its centennial.

The United States World War One Centennial Commission has a new website at http://worldwar-1centennial.org.  Take time to visit the site and if you can, assist them with preparing for next year’s events.
