The Honor and Courage Foundation

By | November 8, 2024

[November 8, 2024]  Out of the blue, I received a call from Father Drucker – the Doo Wop Priest – introducing me to Heather Sliwinski, the CEO and founder of a wonderful non-profit called the Honor and Courage Foundation. We often hear of nonprofits that help Veterans’ causes, but this organization is one of the best: trustworthy, helpful, and run by a great team of dedicated individuals.

I’m a bit partial to Heather because she owns an “amazing Chocolate Lab called Reckless.”  She is also the mother of a U.S. Marine veteran. When a Veteran reaches out to Heather, they immediately become part of her family. As they say in baseball, you gotta have heart. Heather has heart.

“The mission of the Honor and Courage Foundation is to bring ‘Hope’ and ‘Purpose’ to Veterans and First Responders suffering from the effects of Post Traumatic Stress and physical battle scars through mentorship and to provide assistance, support and advocacy.” – from the organization’s website

I recommend watching the video on the main page of their website. Heather and John Bittner discuss various aspects of what they do. For example, they have a 24/7 hotline designed primarily to prevent Veteran suicide and a Vietnam Veteran program to help those still struggling from their service in that war.

Once you become part of Heather’s family, you will always be. She gets you involved, which is a key to living a good life responsibly. That’s what I truly appreciate.

I’m happy to highlight Heather and her organization. The Honor and Courage Foundation is legitimate, and Veterans are being helped by it. Take a look, call them, and learn more about what they do.

Thank you, Heather, for your passion. Keep up the great work.

Elisa, one of the huge advantages of this website is that, on occasion, there is a special feature or organization that is highlighted. Some of us just think “Okay, noted.” But we all should investigate a little more and also help to get the word out. For those who live in eastern Pennsylvania and surrounding regions, you live physically close enough to visit The Honor and Courage Foundation. Go there and let us all know what you saw and give us your thoughts.

Sounds like a great organization. It’s hard to keep track of those that help our vets and first responders. What this tells me is that our ordinary American citizens are great folks.

Hi Joe, yep, what you just wrote needs to be emphasized. We do support our veterans and first responders and those who are out there every day making our society work. We disagree with those who want to “defund the police “ or cut our military budget. We disagree with those radical leftists, those in the Democrat Party who think we are stupid and so they pander to us. No wonder that Kamala Harris lost. She thought surrounding herself with a bunch of Hollywood celebrities and high-profile entertainers would draw us to her. WRONG. And let’s not forget that Monday is Veterans Day. Be ready. Go out to a Veterans Day parade.

Mark, yes, well said. And welcome to Gen. Satterfield’s leadership forum. This is where we share and discuss ideas. We can also add to what Gen. Satterfield has written for us. I always read these comments. Often I find tremendous information that helps me understand what these articles are about. 😎
