The Rise of the Hamas Red Triangle

By | June 17, 2024

[June 17, 2024]  When the Islamic terror organization Hamas waged war on Israel on October 7th last year by purposefully targeting young people at a music festival, my first reaction was that I’d read about such atrocities before.  I was immediately drawn to compare the growth of the Nazis in Europe with the rise of Hamas, who now use the red triangle symbology, much like the black Swastika.

I am not a Jew, but I’ve read a considerable amount about anti-Semitism at length, explicitly focusing on Nazi Germany in the 1930s and 40s, the Holocaust, World War II, Concentration Camps, and the ideology that drove the people who supported Nazism.  And, like so many of the world’s intellectuals who see Jews as the canary in the coal mine, that warns us of Evil in its most terrible sense.

Why are the Jews the canary in the coal mine?  Dr. Jordan Peterson believes:

“The Jews are the canary in the coal mine because they’re a successful minority.  If a culture can tolerate a successful minority, it’s pretty damn robust, and it’s not very resentful.  And, as soon as a culture starts to get resentful, the Jews make an easy target because they are a minority.  They’re the minority that has the temerity to be successful, and that really brings the resentful out of their rat holes.” – Dr. Jordan Peterson, link here

I disagree with “experts” most of the time, but in this case, I do.  Iran is the provocateur.  Iran is desperate because of the threadbare hold the Mullahs have in Iran.  Under President Trump, the success of the Abraham Accords and other diplomatic successes all work against Iran.  Hamas is a tool of Iran (some say “puppet” of Iran) that the latter uses to poke America and the West through Israel.

The Rise of the Hamas Red Triangle

Nazi Concentration camp uniform showing the inverted red triangle

Earlier this month, vandals in New York City spattered homes with paint as an inverted red triangle.  This is the same symbol used by

terrorists to mark targets they want to take out.  Hamas and other militant groups in the Middle East have used the symbol to show people or property they have targeted.

More generally, the inverted red triangle is used by those “showing support for the Palestinian cause.”  Interestingly, the Nazis used the symbol to identify people with political views unacceptable to them.

Is this outpouring of anti-Semitism and support by countries like Iran the last-ditch attempt by dictatorial governmental powers to hold onto their power?  Peace in the Middle East is not in Iran’s best interests.

Symbols like the Swastika and the inverted red triangle are easy to create and display.  Expect to see more of them.  The political leftists in the West, and in particular in America, will use such symbols because, in doing so, fear is generated, and that is part of their intimidation of what they believe to be the oppressor in their oppressor/oppressed narrative.

Great article my friend. Symbolism needs to be taught more. It’s in the bible. To get the effect on this you must do your homework to see why and what it truly means. So many people misinterpreted the Symbolism in the Bible and other things.

Gen. Satterfield, thanks. I’ll be on the look out for this in the future. An inverted red triangle has more meaning than I would have thought and I had no idea this harked back to the days of Nazi Concentration Camps. Your article today on the New York Times and other news media hiding the violence of pro-Hamas protests is also enlightening. Well done! Keep us informed.

Gen. Satterfield has given us something to think about and, in my opinion, he has something here. Expect to see more of these inverted red triangles – because they are easy. Also see today’s article “Radical Leftists’ Obsession Over Symbols.”

I think Gen. Satterfield basically says is that the left’s ideology has no basis, it is just an amalgamation of junk that feels good.

Gen. Satterfield writes – More generally, the inverted red triangle is used by those “showing support for the Palestinian cause.” Interestingly, the Nazis used the symbol to identify people with political views unacceptable to them.

We should be paying close attention to this, plus we need to work with our local communities at the level of all organizations to push back on those who support the murderous Hamas and esp. on those in the political and law enforcement community who support them.

This is a highly-charged subject. Yet, Gen. Satterfield is willing to take it on. I personally would like to read more of his thoughts.

“According to correspondence between Sinwar and other Hamas leaders published by the WSJ, he fully intends to continue the war. “Israel has a lot to lose from the war,” he writes. – It is exactly where we wanted it to be.” The cold-blooded Gaza killer is well aware that international pressure on Israel is ever-increasing, and the more Palestinians who die, the more meaningful that pressure will be. Sinwar writes: “We only make headlines when there is blood.”” –

Sinwar writes: “We only make headlines when there is blood.” The cult of Hamas is the first ever force that wants its own people to die, for that is how they become more powerful. And power is what they are after to destroy the Jews and the Jews have yet to fully recognize that ideology.

Thanks Gen. Satterfield for the symbology of evil. There is also the symbology of good and let us never cross them.

Just a quick note to say to everyone that I hope they had a great time with their fathers this past Sunday and that your family was there. Dads rarely get the recognition they deserve. And this is one day they can. Anyway, I was surprised a bit by this article which is a million miles away from the “Letters to My Granddaughter” that shows that Gen. Satterfield was raised poor (but “rich” according to him) and that he can communicate with his granddaughter in these letters that tell of his time as a little kid and his thoughts and actions. And, then how from that he grew to become a senior flag officer in the US army. Have a good day to all.

Another great article, thanks Gen. Satterfield. Such a complex area and one the world could do without.

Hi Hiratio Algiers, I was going to write the same thing but you beat me to it. Yes, Gen. Satterfield is on top of these sorts of things, esp. in the MIddle East. He only publishes one article per day and several of us have asked for more but he is dedicating his time to his family more now that he is retired. Thanks. And, if you haven’t read his books, then get your copy now.
