The Ukraine (Update)

By | April 29, 2014

[April 29 2014] Prior to Russia’s on-going effort to gobble up a free nation, the U.S. State Department, the White House, and political pundits predicted that Russia would not interfere with the country of Ukraine. I wrote about this here and said that “since the U.S. had no strategy, policy, or leadership on the Ukraine, that … we are accepting [read violent] behavior” by Russia.

I predicted more violence and more deaths; all of which have come true. Today we are getting additional reports that the country is sliding slowly into greater violence. Russia will use this as a pretext to invade and to protect ethnic Russians. It’s only a matter of time.

The Secretary of State and the President are not providing a clear understanding of where we are, what our strategy is, and how we will get there. Furthermore, the Secretary of State is more willing to talk about a non-existent “apartheid” in Israel, than dealing with a real crisis.

We should not be doing “something” just to be seen doing something. However, senior leaders must have a strategy and plan; and be seen executing that plan with clear, achievable goals in mind. We have none of the above.
