Twitter: a Major Lesson in Failed Leadership

By | February 18, 2023

[February 18, 2023]   The takeover of Twitter this past October by Elon Musk and the follow-on investigative reporting of what is known as the “Twitter Files” is one of the most important events of this century.  Journalists Matt Taibbi, Bari Weiss, and a small number of others began to peel back the many layers of deep corruption within Twitter and major U.S. law enforcement agencies.

After Musk completed his acquisition of Twitter, he fired a slew of useless or insubordinate employees, instituted new content moderation policies, and tried to reform a woke corporate culture that bordered (and still borders) on parody.  In the process, Musk coordinated with Taibbi and Weiss on the publication of a series of stories based on internal Twitter documents related to an array of major political events going back years: the Hunter Biden laptop scandal, Twitter’s secret policy of shadow banning, President Trump’s suspension from Twitter after the January 6 U.S. Capitol riot, the co-opting of Twitter by the FBI to suppress “election disinformation” ahead of the 2020 election, Twitter’s involvement in a Pentagon overseas psy-op campaign, its silencing of dissent from the official Covid narrative, its complicity in the Russiagate hoax, and its gradual capitulation to the direct involvement of the U.S. intelligence community—with the FBI as a go-between—in content moderation.

Many will say this is “old news” and that we should move on now.  Some will swear this “investigation” is politically motivated and composed of lies, distortion of events, misleading narratives, journalistic malfeasance, and cherry-picking news.  Wrong.  This is one of the worst failures in the leadership of any major company.  There are no worse examples.

This should not just disturb us, it should also prod us to action in defense of the First Amendment, free and fair elections, and indeed our country.

We are fortunate that John Daniel Davidson, The Federalist, gives an excellent summary of the efforts of social media to develop and distribute political propaganda, suppress dissenting voices, and create an alliance between media companies and law enforcement (e.g., FBI, DOJ, Dept of State) to cut off free speech and hold onto an official, government developed, censorship program.

As Taibbi has written, the Twitter Files “show the FBI acting as doorman to a vast program of social media surveillance and censorship, encompassing agencies across the federal government—from the State Department to the Pentagon to the CIA.”

Censorship is the name of the game for Twitter and federal agencies under the direct guidance of the White House.  It is still happening within other social media companies like YouTube and Facebook.  The question is whether the American people have the will to fight back.

It doesn’t take a genius intellectually to figure out that Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and a host of social media platforms are corrupt to their core. The exposure of Twitter and the level of corruption is so deep that even Elon Musk is having a hard time ferreting it out.

I’m surprised that the FBI has taken this website down because this forum is so full of truth.

HOT off the press, “Hunter Biden asked cousin to set him up with Nicola Peltz.” Ha Ha Ha….. very useful being the VP’s son and now Pres son. You are exempt from the law. FBI, I’m just asking for a friend, so don’t arrest me (snarc).

Do I see a presidential pardon waiting to be dusted off and signed by daddy Pres Joe Bitme? Yeah, I think so and no one in their right mind would think otherwise. Besides, liberalism (or better, progressivsim and socialism) is a mental desease. Convince me I’m wrong! Go ahead, make my day.

A sign of intelligence is learning from one’s mistakes. Social media companies have not yet learned from their mistakes and are now doubling down on their stupidity. You know what I say, “Stupid is, as stupid does.”

Lies, Lies, and more lies. That is what our social media “betters” do. I like it when Armywife says they outright lied because that is true.

They didn’t just surpress the news they outright lied to the American people. Until the people involved are held responsible (hits their pockets, are fired or jail time) nothing will change. Have faith all.

Yes, that’s right, Twitter takes a birdbath, meaning a cleansing is underway within that bloated, woke, anti-free speech company. Elon Musk has officially taken over control of Twitter, ending months of legal disputes. He is bringing significant changes, which began with the immediate firing of Twitter’s CEO Parag Agrawal, Vijaya Gadde, and Ned Segal (Twitter’s top three executives). No need to feel sorry for those executives – unceremoniously escorted out of Twitter’s headquarters building – who were personally responsible for censoring and shadowbanning thousands of Americans who had opinions different from theirs, mostly political conservatives. Last year I wrote about the moral cowardice of Twitter’s executives. Sad. – Gen. Satterfield, Oct 31, 2022

If you don’t know what is happening, then you are a dunce. What can I say to make it better for you if you don’t know it? I say, now do something. Cut off your use of social media and do it today. And tell everyone you know what is happening.
