[May 28, 2024] After years of work, a small group of dedicated volunteers will unveil and dedicate a WWII Memorial in Atlantic City, NJ, on 6 June at Noon. If you are available, I recommend you attend. Get there early. The memorial is inspired by and based on the likeness of SSG Bernie Friedenberg.
I wrote about the hero SSG Bernie Friedenberg on several occasions (here, here, and here). Bernie was so small and had such bad eyesight that during WWII, even the Army wouldn’t take him. But because of his persistence, they made him a medic, and that decision would take him to D-Day on Omaha beach with the 1st Infantry Division, landings in Sicily, and at the Battle of the Bulge. It amazes me that he lived.
FREE and OPEN to the Public: Join me there! The unveiling of this memorial will be in honor of all Americans who served their country during WWII. Let us all come together to pay tribute and remember their enduring legacy on the 80th Anniversary of D-Day. A rain date is set for 8 June 2024.

I live too far, but if I was near, I would be there. Looks like something any good patriot would want to attend. Thank you Gen. Satterfield for the part you play in this.
Great news!
As I would expect it to be with Gen. Satterfield and his friends involved. If you want to get a good look at what this will look like, just go to their website https://berniefriedenbergworldwariimemorial.com/ and take a peek. This is just an artists rendition but that tells us a lot in itself. I understand the local media is already covering the event and the local newspaper The Press of Atlantic City is already covering it.
Gen. Satterfield, I’ll help get the word out too, even if I do live in North Carolina. Maybe, just maybe, a few that might be visiting relatives up your way can attend. Who knows? On the other hand, I’d like to say congratulations to those who made this all happen. If you see them, please pass along my thanks and that of my family too. Anyone who goes out of their way to honor these men who fought and died in WW2 deserves our greatest gratitude. I also will pray for a nice day for those folks who attend. Good weather is always handy for outside ceremonies.
Good luck that day, Gen. Satterfield. Let us know how the dedication went. Thank you!
I’ll be there. I live just a few miles from the park. thanks for letting me know about it.
I am too. I live in Egg Harbor Twp located in South Jersey. Me and my friends will be there. Gen. Satterfield …. you da man. Please say hello to me if we run into each other. I’d like to finally meet you in person.
You folks are lucky to live close.
Let’s all help get the word out so that this dedication of a WWII Memorial is successful as an event and plenty of attention is drawn to it. When so many crazy leftists like BLM and antifa are burning down our streets and college kids are defacing statues and cities are removing statues, let us build more and more. That way the political neo-Marxists and nutjobs that support them can go to HELL and the devil be their guide. This is one perfect example of pushing back on the Democrat Party that supports anti-Semitism and anti-Americanism. We won’t stand for their radical and violent ideology that they are so blind to the real world. Good luck, Gen. Satterfield and I’m sure you will be there.
I’m in Australia but if you have a media event, please let me know and I’ll watch it. Cheers.
Me too, I’ll watch. A link to a streaming service or posted on Youtube will be nice.
Nice. I hope it goes well.
Hi Hal, remember back 3 years ago, almost to the day when this article was published “D-Day and a WW2 Medic Memorial” on June 6, 2021? I remember. Here is the URL for a direct link: https://www.theleadermaker.com/d-day-and-a-ww2-medic-memorial/

Never forget. Never ever forget. That is one of the reasons we have statues and memorials. We don’t to forget and should never forget those who sacrificed and now we are living in a great country.
Jerome, thanks …. I remember now too.
As with all events like this that will draw a large crowd, get there early and get a seat if you are elderly or have a handicap. That is the way it’s done to ensure you can get through it okay. I hope the ceremony goes well. I live on the north side of Chicago, so I won’t be there but I will be wishing those who put this together, all the best. Great job in letting us know. We need more.
Gen. Satterfield, good luck with this dedication and I am sure you will be there standing tall to recognize the sacrifices of those men and women during WWII. Take some pix and send them to us. 😀😀😀😀😀
Also, on a separate note, I hope your book “55 Rules for a Good Life” is getting read by so many young people who need that kind of personal philosophy today.
I hope there are thousands there to show their patriotism. 🇺🇸
Now that would be nice, if they are ready for that many.
